So I've been all about finding joy in simple places lately. Today I found myself wearing one of the things that bring me "simple joy" - my Aeropostale t-shirt that is covered in bling. I'm not normally a sparkly person, don't need nice jewelry or shiny stuff - but this shirt is so great! It's simple, it's grey - but it has these little rhinestones on it. One day a few months ago I was driving around doing some errands I noticed that when it was sunny that the bling on my shirt reflected the sun into little prism like reflections ALL OVER the dashboard and ceiling of my car. As I would move the sparkles danced quickly around my car. There is nothing like a sparkly, dancing burst of sun to make a person smile! Another day I had a similar experience as I was washing dishes at my kitchen sink and saw the reflections bursting all over my kitchen cabinets. So now if it's sunny out I almost instantly get the desire to throw on my sparkly shirt and dance around a little in the sun. (If you see me wear it all together too often - just remember that it picks up my spirits, and maybe look to find one for yourself!)

Joanna, I agree with you. I love those little rainbow bursts and sun sparkles. And I love seeing you looking for the small moments of joy and happiness. I am learning more and more that I can often choose to let go of my fears and my sadness in the moment and just say "RIGHT NOW, right this minute, right in my body, the world is a beautiful place and I am doing fine." And then when I think about how blessed and grateful I am, my heart floods with joy, my neurochemistry changes, and I feel happy for awhile.
