Family Bike Ride

In my newer efforts to being healthier as a family I have found that when we do have some family time available I want to be doing things that are more active. Today the weather was gorgeous and the boys wanted to get their bikes out. So after an afternoon of riding their bike and scooter around the backyard we decided to take a little family bike ride up the canyon. We headed into town with the bikes in the back of the truck and took off. It was about a 5.5 mile round trip and was great! Cory hauled the bike trailer with the boys and I got a fantastic bike ride. Going up the canyon was somewhat uphill and when we got to the end of the trail my legs were burning (and it felt great!). But coming back was a blast! I just rode ahead of the boys - the weather was crisp and yet so invigorating! I thought I was going to smoke the boys and beat them back to our truck but then in the last few yards Cory came flying up behind me. Dang it! I totally thought I'd beat them. A little bit of competitive edge came out in me. Next time I won't let them beat me! :)

It taught me that in life we can't let our guard down until we have officially crossed the finish line. Sometimes we'll be cruising along in life and let our guard down. We might not eat as healthy as we have in the past, or not stay as organized as we normally are. We might take a break spiritually and not stay totally on top of our spiritual growth and development - or think we're ok financially so we don't take normal important precautions.....

But we always need to be on our toes. We always need to bring our "A Game" and be prepared for whatever might be coming up behind us - especially if we want to win across the finish line. We can't become complacent, think we've got it all figured out, or take it too easy - because I don't know about you - but I want to WIN in the end!!!

Digital Scrapbook Pages

.
First off I wanted to tell you about a new ADOREABLE kit - "Lucky Me" by The Ettes & Company". I LOVE this new kit! It's great because it could be used for so many different kinds of pages. That's generally what I love about the kits that these ladies design - they are so versatile! And since it was just released today it's on sale - so check it out!

Here are some other layouts I've done recently as well. Kits from Libby Weifenbach, Bella Gypsy and Connie Prince. If you have any questions about a specific product - please let me know and I'll post it.
I don't say often enough how deeply grateful I am for scrapbooking in my life. I feel so blessed to have this creative outlet and that I get to spend time with beautiful creations that these designers make. The artwork and talent astound me!

Check this out!

I'm not sure if this is going to show up correctly....but I'll give it a try anyway. If it doesn't make sense the way you see it - check out this website: www.transformation.com.

This challenge is amazing. The woman in the pictures - Leslie Groft - is one of my dear friends and is actually the woman I'm blessed to have as my personal trainer. She is helping me to change my life in many ways. I love this gal and I love that she's helping me find my happy self again.

This health challenge is FREE, life changing, uplifting and amazing. Oh yeah - did I mention FREE. Bill Phillips, the founder of Transformation has changed so many lives and he is making his tools available to all of us for FREE! The neat thing to me is that his challenge and his program isn't just about loosing weight. It's SO much deeper than that - it is about transforming yourself into a better version of yourself. The weight loss is just a side effect of that :). There are assignments, support groups, radio programs, recipes, workout ideas and even more on the website.

By participating in the challenge you are also given the chance to win a bunch of $ - but the draw to the program for me is that I'm becoming happier. I haven't actually even officially registered for the chance to win the $ - I've just been working on becoming the person I know I'm meant to be. I'm focusing on becoming the daughter I know my Heavenly Father sent me here to become. I am reminding myself of the stewardship He gave me over this body and I'm trying to do what I can to return to Him one day and not be ashamed for destroying the beautiful creation he sent me with.

Overall the reason I know this program works - I'm feeling hope again. I'm finding myself wanting to make plans for the future. I'm doing things I wouldn't have done before (ran a 5K on Saturday - pictures to come soon). I'm feeling like there is something to work towards and that I'm doing something that helps me physically, spiritually and mentally. I'm remembering happier times in my life and excited for those again. I'm not feeling the depression and despair I was struggling with before starting this.

Yes, it's hard. Yes, there are days I don't want to keep working out every morning or when I really just want to cheat and eat junk food all day. But I'm learning that I deserve better than that. My family deserves better than that. I can be a better wife, friend, mother, daughter and a better ME by taking care of my body and mind.

So I thought I'd put this out there for any of you who could use a little more clarity in your life. Anyone who has tried other things and it hasn't worked - or to anyone who might even just want to work towards $50,000. As one of my friends said - what's the worse thing that could happen if you didn't win the money - at least you have a healthier body and mind - you definetly won't be a "looser" in any respect.

Good luck to all of the challengers and CONGRATS to Leslie for showing all of us that it's possible!
