Time with the Cheney's

One of the main reasons that I'm sad we don't live in Idaho anymore is that we don't get to spend weekends with our best friend The Cheney's. Trent Cheney was Cory's best friend in high school, and he married one of the coolest girls I've ever met - Melissa - and they have a 4 year old sweetie - Naia. We miss the fun we have when we are together.

So it was great to spend parts of Friday and Saturday when we went up to Idaho with their family. Friday Gabe and Naia played - (really well I might add) and we chatted. Then we had a tasty dinner at Chuck-a-Rama (which I have always heard called "up-chuck"-a-rama and had never eaten there. Guess what? It's actually VERY tasty, and I can't wait to go back and try more of the yummy buffet. The scones and honey-butter were tasty, the salads yummy, and desserts - scrumptious). Then Saturday morning they all came over to our hotel and we went swimming with the kids for what felt like HOURS and HOURS. Afterwards we headed back to their house, and a big tasty breakfast (or brunch....) and the kids played. Gabe and Naia did really well together, and it made me just that much more sad that they couldn't be regular play-mates. We have tried and tried to convince the Cheney's to move down to Southern Utah, and they have begged us to move back to Idaho....but I have a feeling we'll probably both stay where we are.

The great thing I think is that they are the kind of friends who we pick up right where we left off when we get together. None of the awkwardness that happens sometimes, and it's like we've never been apart.

Love you guys!

(P.S. Yes - that is a boogery nose on Hunter's face....his poor nose has just run like a faucet the last week or so. It seems to get yuckier every day. But yesterday we noticed that there is at least one tooth popping through, and possibly as many as 4 - he won't open his mouth enough for us to see. So that explains why he's been a bit under the weather, and explains the messes on his face.)

Whoa! Naia has gotten tall! Gabe is going to have to grow if he is indeed going to marry her someday. :) Glad you had a great time.

Love, Mom
